thanks! I sure wish we had room for pictures. As is, those shelves are crammed with spices and such--and we have more that won't fit! We could probably fill a kitchen twice as big...
Here are a couple of pics of dark or colored floors that interest me: This first one is lovely. Check out those awesome painted cabinet inards!!! Indeed with all this white it does look a bit cold. With some warm wooden countertops and a soft yellow wall it might warm up.
Re: Blue kitchen floor?!!
This aqua color is fantastic too. I'm not super into shiny floors but this is very beautiful

Here is a
pic
of a blue floor (obviously not a kitchen) but just for an idea of what it might look like as I think that the blue I'm looking at is a gray/blue like this:
We must have very similar taste as I am planning my Adel white kitchen and will likely be painting my floors light grey-blue- much like the top photo you posted above. If I had the budget and didn't think I'd stain the heck out of them, I would have marble counters to go with it all, but I think we will go with bianco romano granite, which has a similar flavor.
We are putting beadboard up around 3/4 up the walls including the backsplash, and it will be painted clean white to match the trim. The top 1/4 of the room will either be deep, dusty grey-purple, or light yellow to match what is currently in the adjacent (but not open) dining room. I figured I would make that decision once everything else was in, but as much as I like the purple, the yellow might win.
I love the floors you posted, they are very pretty!
Looks like it is paired with Adel white cabs to boot! Looks nice!
I'm glad that someone understands my "vision" haha. Yes it sounds like we do have similar tastes. Can't wait to see pics of your finished kitchen!
I think the blue floors would look great with yellow (but not too bright) walls. I've always thought blue and yellow were great for a cheerful kitchen. You could do a back splash that tied the two colors together.
Added the

to my inspiration folder, thanks! I can't wait to see yours, too!
My husband just finished taking down the horrid fan in the center of the room tonight and put in 8 recessed lights. Now the paint color I had tested on the walls and loved (the dusty grey-purple) turns out to be a harsh bright violet! It's amazing the difference good light makes. I guess we are going with pale yellow after all.

Re: Blue kitchen floor?!!
I say go for it! I personally think bright blue floors AND bright yellow walls would be terrific. Most people are afraid of color, but color is your friend. IT is only one layer in the design. Pale yellow and soft blue-gray are safe, but there's no !WOW! factor. Be adventurous. It's only paint!

See quiltmaster - that was what I was looking for! You are so right that color is my friend. I like lots of color. I'm afraid of muting all of my color choices until my kitchen looks like many other kitchens....boring beige. Paint can always be painted over (and maybe it should be to bring some variety to our lives). I do want something light and bright yet calming so I might stick to just one bright color (which may be the floors depending on how colorful they turn out to be). Thanksfortheencouragement!
Yes...I am wanting to avoid other cool colors for that reason. I want a warm kitchen. I'm now leaning toward wood countertops and cream/yellow walls like this:

I think that that way I'll keep things kind of neutral but warm and can accent with more bold colors like red, blue, yellow and/or orange. Thanks so much for your input.
