Hi everyone. This is my first day on the forum. I'm so happy you're all here!
I'm just getting started with a complete overhaul of my 10 x 11' kitchen in Yonkers. I'm really interested in getting a drawer dishwasher (single drawer). I'd like to hear if anyone has installed one of these and which cabinet they used. In general these dishwashers are 24" wide and about 17" high.
My initial thought was to modify a drawer cabinet, but IKEA doesn't make a 24"-wide drawer cabinet. The more I thought about it, I wondered if I could modify the 24"-wide cabinet with doors, scrap the doors, and install the dishwasher in the upper portion of the cabinet, and then install a drawer in the bottom. Questions arise: can I use a 24" w x 18" h wall cabinet door front as a drawer front? Are there any 24"-wide drawer guts?
I am almost certain that Torrus posted somewhere (recently, like in the last month) that there was a 24" base drawer cab coming very soon... but I can't find the thread now. Maybe someone else can confirm?
Edited to say:
Found it! Don't know what its current availablility is...
Hi Ricardelli and welcome! Nice to see a fellow New Yorker on the board.
I can't answer your question re the dishdrawer, but I do know that badlydrawnboy has recently installed a single in his kitchen. Perhaps PM him for more information?
edited to add: You don't have to scrap the doors, as you mentioned above...you just would not order them. All the cabinet parts are sold separately, they are just bundled together in the planner for convenience but the individual parts can be added or subtracted as needed.
There's actually a tutorial on this. I don't believe you can use the 24" cabinet because the inside dimensions are only 22.5". But, it can be done with a little modification and creativity. Here's the tutorial where someone did this using a 3rd party cabinet box and drawer with a single Fisher Paykel dishwasher drawer: Adding a Dishwasher Drawer in an IKEA Kitchen
Hope that helps!

Ikea does in fact sell 24" wide drawer cabinets which means that yes they do sell 24" wide drawer fronts as well as 24" rationell drawer interiors. The interiors are available in a shallow drawer (6" drawer front) or a deep drawer (12" drawer front). This is something new that IKEA has just introduced so you might find that not all the door styles have this 24" bank of drawer features. Now if your d/w is 17" this means that you'll only have 13" of space left to work with, so in theory you could use a 24" wide x12" tall drawer with 1" of filler. Hope this helps!
