Hello - my husband and I are planning to redo our kitchen (standard 10x10 room in city row house). We are going to keep our newer appliances (white) and have to keep the current tile floor (also white). The previous owners tiled the entire first floor with the white tiles, and we put a nice wood laminate over it in the living/dining but kept the white in the kitchen. But for resale purposes, we don't want to mess with the tile.

SO, the problem is I cannot find any photos of kitchens with white floors since that is not trendy right now. We like the Liljestad cabinets the most but are open. If we used those with our white floor - thoughts on backsplash color, countertops, and wall color? Or do you have another thought on cabinets?

I think Lilje will look fine with white tile. We aren't so much a white tile country, tending more towards beige as the neutral, but European and Asian kitchens frequently use white tiles. With the dark cabinets and white tile and appliances, I would be suggesting midtones for your countertop, wall and backsplash to bridge the contrast. If you want to add color, greens would be a beautiful complement, or if you want cooler tones then perhaps pale blue.

I'm no good at the actual planning of kitchens, but I can tell you that if you go through the galleries, you'll see many IKEA displays with white floors - seems to be one of their favs. Click on Galleries above, then do a search on white and Liljestad if that's what you want to see. Now, you'll also get results on white counters and white walls, but you never know where you'll find inspiration...
