OK Leslie, I put a plan on your space called Eva.
The fridge is a bit far away from the action, but there isn't really much space to put it. I tried to avoid all wall cabinets and just did two large 30" pantries on either side of the fridge, so your cold and dry good storage will all be together. You could change one of the pantries out for a 30" base cabinet with a wall cab above and put an OTC microwave there to make a quick snack center, or you could just put the microwave on one of the pantry shelves if you can get electricity in there. Considering the space is a family room and that's a corridor to the great room, having the fridge outside of the main work area is probably a good idea.
I did do the peninsula and didn't move the door, plus I changed the slider to a French door and added a bank of windows to mimic the window in the dining area. You could do shelves or something on either side of the hood if you want to, or you could do wall cabinets there with a hood in between. I also added a counterheight bar that will seat three extending from the peninsula, to give a nice clean sightline right to the back wall and the windows.
Let me know what you think!
