Since the all-knobs thread didn't get much response (thanks, though, Dulce - didn't realize it was such an oddity! lol), I'm now wondering this...
How would my kitchen look if it had all knobs on the wall cabinets, and all handles on the base cabinets?
DH doesn't want to do all handles - thinks it'll look too busy up top - but he's consented to doing them on the base cabs. I think the handles would be better on our 36" oven drawer unit (rather than 2 knobs)... so that's what has me thinking of putting handles on the bottom part of the kitchen... well, that, and Dulce saying that people don't really do all-knobs.
Any thoughts? We want to take a run to IKEA in the morning, so hopefully you guys can steer me in the right direction! BTW, we like the GAVEYR (sp?) knobs and handles, and we have Adel medium brown cabinets.
Here are pics of our kitchen. We haven't put the sink cabinet in yet (it goes under the window), and the "G" part of our G-shaped kitchen isn't quite complete. But hopefully you can kinda catch an idea of what we're doing.

Knobs and handles are such a personal preference . . . as you and your Dh are fast discovering.
What we did in our kitchen was use knobs on the wall cabinets, knobs on the hinged doors in the base cabinets, and handles mounted horizontally on all the drawers and pull-outs. For our 30" and 36" wide drawers we used two handles, everything else has one. Our one large 30" Pantry has handles mounted vertically with knobs on the upper doors (mimicking the wall cabinet knobs).
Here's a bank of our drawers (with lots of handles!) and our upper cabinets with knobs:
When we were at this point, the thing that helped my Dh and I decide was looking at finished kitchens. Take a look at some kitchen pics online or walk around the IKEA displays. It's SO hard to visualize everything when you are in your kitchen and trying to hold up knobs or just imagine them there.
I did what Gwen did as far as placement/number on the drawers. I used knobs on anything that looked like a door, even if it was really a pullout. Exception: On my tall pantries, I used bigger handles mounted horizontally, to match the bulk of the unit.

We did knobs up top and handles below. Although, I'm considering changing out my knobs for handles above. It's more than likely a function of the DRAG knobs more than anything else..,..I don't feel like I always get a good grip on the knobs and I like the sturdiness of the DRAG handles.
I'm throwing one in for the cup pull people. We used knobs on the uppers, and cup pulls on the drawers, and knobs on the lower doors. And, just to confuse matters, on some non-akurum cabinets, I used finger pulls and nameplates. Ha! But I'm weird, I know...
Check my blog for pictures. It's a hodge podge, but we love it.
