Yikes! After 13 years of thinking, and about 10 months of serious planning, we've now signed the contract & the demolition starts on Saturday. I've already posted a very similar plan, and adjusted it some, based on the great comments received from everyone.
Here's our final version...I think! I won't be ordering the cupboards until Friday, so please give this one more look. If I missing anything major, it's really not to late to make another changed (is it ever too late with Ikea!)
I like it! My kitchen is almost exactly the same as yours - down to the placement of the windows and doors - and my layout is almost identical as well. Unfortunately I don't have room for a pantry next to the fridge but I wish I did, I like yours there.
The only thing I would point out is maybe you would like to have the base cabinet to the left of the range the same size as the one on the right. I am a real stickler for symmetry and notice when things are a little off. I think the door on the corner cab is 21", so I would put a 21" cab on the left.
Hi Denise! That's very exciting!!! I can't wait to see photos. Have you read the Gallery tutorial ? If you've still got questions after reading the tutorial PM me and I'll help you through the process.
I hope your remodel goes smoothly and turns out to be even better than you've planned it to be for all those years!
I might be missing it - but where's your sink ??? I don't see one in your plan ...

Woohoo! I like your plan very much. The only comment I have, and it's purely a matter of personal preference, is maybe to change out the wall cabinet between the windows to horizontals. And you might want to put a cabinet in the corner under the bar, I don't see one there now.
I'm not qualified to help much on the layout/design front... I know my limitations. I can help a bit on the picture posting and BLOG fronts.
Take a look at the Gallery Tutorial and the Blog Tutorial. If you run into any specific questions let us know!

- the base unit in the corner by the window is the 49" lazy susan ...although the doors on that wall aren't symetrical, I wanted to have the oven & hood centered on the wall, and having the 49" lazy susan on one side, along with a 30" and 18" cabinet on the other side met that requirement. I'll use the 18" cabinet for trays, cutting boards, etc.
- No sink - I wish...as much as I despise washing dishes, I will be having a sink in the base cabinet beneath the window...I think I'll be using a Blanco Silgranite, (anthracite color), which I hope will coordinate well with the Adel MB, and the counter top (still trying to decide between the formica Basalt Slate and Wilsonart HD Slate)
- I have now added a 24" base unit under the bar, in the corner, and I've also order 3 extra 12" doors, to put on the back side of the 36" unit in the pennisula...so there'll be 5 -12" doors underneath the 12-14" overhang.
- Eva - I had to laugh at your comment about changing out the 36" upper cabinet to a horizontal unit...as I did have that in my plan from a couple of weeks ago, and someone said the exact opposite...that I'd be better off having a 36" unit....I'm sure either would be fine, but I've decided I need the extra cupboard space.
