I know, I know, the Fall Kitchen Event ended today.... sigh. We just purchased a house this week, and will not have the funds to totally remodel the kitchen until the spring of 2012. Does anyone know when the next IKEA Kitchen Event will be? Or do you know usually what month it is in? I'm willing to wait for the sale, because right now any savings will help keep us on budget. Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on the purchase of your new home!

As for the Spring 2012 kitchen sale, I just asked an IKEA staff about it today. The person I talked to didn't know exactly when the sale would occur in 2012. But, based on previous years, he thinks it is likely that there will be another kitchen sale between March-May. Again, this is only a speculation since he doesn't have any specific info yet.

This particular IKEA staff was very helpful to us when we had sudden reservations on the door type for our new kitchen, and he counseled us to hold off our purchase and come back next Spring.

We are impressed with the service we received today at IKEA, at least with this staff member. It certainly make us happier customers and left feeling that IKEA truly want to help us to create wonderful spaces we would love (and that they are not just in it for the money.)

Thanks lovetogarden! Please let me know if you hear anything in the next few months. I'll keep asking every time I go to IKEA as well and will let everyone know what I hear. We need to gut our existing kitchen, and I want to be able to plan the demo to end right before the start of the sale... ;-)

Good luck on your remodeling. I've heard the cabinet/countertop sale will start on March 3, 2012 and will continue for a couple of months.

YAY! Thanks frugalbuyer. Did they tell you it's going to be for cabinets and countertops? I've heard the terms of the sale can change (like one time they only had a sale on appliances....). Thanks in advance!

Hi bedlamx2. I was at Ikea today so I stopped by the kitchen dept. I asked if the sale was still scheduled to start March 3 and the salesperson I talked to said it's either that or March 2. I confirmed that this includes cabinets, counters and appliances. I'm not sure about appliances but from my previous discussion I understand the cabinets and counters will be discounted by 20% and that the sale will last about 2 months. Good luck with your remodel. We plan to get the cabinets for our remodel (so I hope they don't change what's covered by the sale!). We saw Ikea cabinets installed by our general contractor at 2 of his references and they looked great and he and the owners all agreed they're a terrific value.

You must be a sweet talker, because I went to Ikea today and the salesperson told me she has NO IDEA when the next sale will be or what will be included. Thank you thank you thank you! I am already planning the room. :-)

I was just lucky - the salesperson volunteered the info originally and this time I was able to reference it. Is it possible that the sales vary around the country? Or, maybe different stores frown on sharing the info (or don't share it with the team).

I agree it's not too soon to plan the room. I'm planning on having my order ready to scan prior to sale day so I can be 1st in line as I imagine it will be mobbed and it will be hard to get time from the sales team. I'm going with Abstrakt white and Abstrakt grey and the grey cabinets are a special order.

Yes, thank you frugalbuyer! I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your abstrakt kitchen! LOVE abstrakt. We bought a victorian, so we are either doing lidingo or ramsjo.... a little too traditional for my tastes. Abstrakt is my fav, so I'm jealous. ;-)
