I have read conflicting comments online about Ikea faucets. Some say they are good, others say they are poor quality. Some have had major headaches trying to install them because they are metric, while others have not.

I was planning to purchase the Edsvik faucet this weekend to install in an Emsen sink, but now I am wondering if I will be disappointed with the quality or have trouble fitting it to the existing "American" plumbing.

I have spent a lot of time looking at faucets lately at my local home depot, lowes, etc. For the price they charge, the Ikea faucets seem overall to be of a lower quality then comparably-priced faucets I see at the franchise hardware stores. Also those stores have better selection.

I am getting a complete kitchen cabinet system from Ikea including counters, but I will go elsewhere for my faucets.

I had the HJUVIK faucet installed last summer as part of my kitchen renovation. My contractor didn't mention anything about having problems installing it and I've had no problems with the faucet. It feels like a pretty solid faucet. The only problem is that a forceful spray combined with three small children can be a hazard sometimes.
