lindingo remodel in the planning stage.

I just found out about IKEA and went the other day to their store here in Florida. I am in the process of planning to redo my kitchen because of flood damage. I find the prices and reviews of IKEA's kitchens to be spot-on with my budget. I did a planner online but don't know if there is a better way of doing things or something more functional.
http://kitchenplanner.ikea.com/US/UI...SharedDesign=1

please give me some pointers on use full or the not so use full.

the model is to my exact size kitchen; however, the back wall is a little longer as it is attached to my florida room.

i attached pictures of my current setup. it's standard builder grade cabinets that are about 7 years old. sorry about the picture quality i have no idea what's going on with my phone's camera.

*i updated the planner with outlets and plumbing locations.

Re: lindingo remodel in the planning stage.

got back from IKEA and my wife loved the Kashmire gold granite as the counter top. I did have questions though if someone would help me out. We are getting 2 of the 49" base corner units because of spacing issues i cannot get the 36 lazy. so i have one cabinet on an end next to my dish washer and the other next to my sink cab. My question is this: will these have issues in opening fully? how do they open, which was does the door and which way does it slide?

Re: lindingo remodel in the planning stage.

I left your layout pretty much the same but suggested some different cabinet choices.
http://kitchenplanner.ikea.com/US/UI...SharedDesign=1
The sink is in a 49" blind corner cabinet modified to accept a 30" wide door set. It will look like a standard sink cabinet, but give you access to a little bit of easily accessible blind space. Using that cabinet leaves room for more drawer space along the half-wall - an 18" and a 36".

Since wide wall cabinets are often better storage space than narrower ones, I eliminated the corner cabinet in favor of two 36" wall cabinets. If you love the corner cabinet, it's fine. I just wanted to suggest an option.

I made the assumption that your refrigerator will work in that corner, since it appears you're using one you already have. Some of these beasts require a lot of "elbow room" for the door.

The 49" corner cabinet: it has about 24" of frontage with a 21" door that is hinged on the side where the cabinet runs meet - the side closest to the corner The slide-out is hinged approximately where the door hinges are. Yours will have to clear your dishwasher, but the 3" of cover panel that is built into the design should take care of that.

Question: where do the mini-closet doors lead. and are they important?

for some reason i cannot access the kitchen planner, it only shows up mine. the mini-closet doors go to a room under my stairs - townhouse. the room is 5'7" high, 5 foot to the back wall and the depth of the stairs, 6.5 ft more or less; it's where we keep all of our kitchen appliances - love the extra hideaway space but i have hit my head many times being over 6 foot tall and getting through this mini door.

also, i like what you suggested about the cabinet space and the sink area; however, i do not think it will work with my 10" deep double sink unless of course i purchase another sink, which the wife will not mine doing. i have also been reading about the hole 36 cabinet with lee valley corner, will this work better for me?

the fridge does not have to be in that location but where else would it fit?
The end of wall "B" is the florida room and the start point of my sliding glass doors. the the boxed in wall is the half bath.

Re: lindingo remodel in the planning stage.

Sorry about the wrong link. I corrected it above and here...I hope. See if this works: http://kitchenplanner.ikea.com/US/UI...SharedDesign=1

The 49" cabinet I suggested would be used without any innards - no shelf, no pullout..just a big open cabinet, so your nice deep sink would fit beautifully. You'd have 10-12" of walled-off, inaccessible space in that back corner ( I used filler there), but I think having room for more Ikea drawer cabinets makes up for that.

I had a feeling we were talking about under-stair storage next to the refrigerator. Darn. I was hoping we could tuck the refrigerator in there, approximately where the closet doors are, but there probably isn't enough height.

If, instead of a 49", you used a 36" cabinet with a Lee Valley pullout between the DW and the range, you'd have room for a tall pantry that would be a buffer between the refrigerator and the wall.

thank you, i really like this setup, especially lovethe extra pull-out next to the fridge. I wish i had room to move it from where it is but there really isn't anywhere to move it that will make it look nice. the only thing my wife knocked off is the cabinet for the sink, but i do see that it has a major advantage with providing more drawer space. BTW , do these drawers hold cookware well? meaning pressure cookers and stock pots.

i do have a question, do you know which cover/toe/deco goes with this lidingo. Is it the perfekt abstrakt or ramsjo or perfekt white? they all say white but i have been reading that sometimes the white doesn't match.

Perfekt white goes with Lidingo, Stat and Applad.
