I noticed on a number of the european sites an interesting mod. They put two 18" cabs with drawers down and then plant the cooktop smack in the middle.

Which led me to this thoght - since Nexus BB is unaivable and Abstrakt black is discontinued could you take two 18" B3D18 cabinets - in Rubrik Black and put the cooktop down in the middle.

With this MOD and doing the same with two 18" cabs B18WB for under the sink and you could actually have an entirely Rubrik Black Kitchen? The only thing I can't get to work are the pull out tall pantries.

I can post a pic of the European Ikea kitchen - I believe I saw one on the Swedish site and another on the German... they didn't seem to do it specifically to use Rubrik - but more to retain a look... I'd do it if all Rubrik Black would look good against Abstrakt White.

You could cut down the two sides that would meet in the middle...and the top drawers would have to be false fronts but that would probably work. I think I'd rather have the larger bottom drawers for pots and pans though.

That sounds like it'll work to me as well. As far as your high pantries go, I believe that the rubrik doors are availiable for them.

There is a 15" X 80" rubrik door - which fits the 89" cabinet - allowing room for the top drawer. The 80" cabinet has a smaller door to allow for the top cabinet... so I could do it - but then I'd have to open up the entire cab every time I want something out of the top.
