Hi. We are working on our kitchen plan, and I am having trouble with the planner. I cannot find some IKEA appliances that are on the website in the planner, such as the fridge ENERGISK S25 S and the LUFTIG exhaust fan with a width of 29 7/8".
When I go to the store to order the kitchen, do they just make the additions?
Anyone have any strong opinions on the merits of Adel medium brown versus Liljestad?
Also, I am left with a 9" filler space that the friendly guy working in Woodburn said I could use the wine rack for, not as deep as other base cabinets, but better than fillers. But again, I can't find it in the program.
My kitchen shape is a bit weird as I have a bay bump out. So the walls follow the shape of a bay window. I want cabinets under the large middle pane of the bay window, but the program won't let me put the cabinets all the way under the window. They are in the center of the floor right now. How do I get them to move?
I have been in an IKEA kitchen in another house from our development, but the previous owners did the remolding. They had cabinets under the two side, slanted panes of the bay window. I am assuming they just cut cabinets down. Which is what I am planning on doing for the base cabinets under the middle pane (base cabinets are 24" deep and the bay is 22" deep). Any ideas for what to do under the two side panels that angle in to the middle large pane?
I also asked about stacking three base cabinets on top of each other, which I was assured was okay as long as long as I secure them properly, but the program won't let me stack that third base cabinet. How do I fix this?
Plus, I notice these all come with worksurface; I didn't see select none, which I need as I am getting counters from somewhere else. I used stone effect grey - does that really mean countertop from somewhere else?
I am having trouble with the cover panels. I left them floating in front of where they will go - plus I will cut the 42" panels to fit the spaces where I need them.
A lot of questions! I appreciate any help/insights out there.
Thanks,
Louise

If you look on the list where you find the cabinets, at the bottom you'll see "Appliances". Click on that and you'll see "Appliances by Whirlpool" and "Your own appliances". You can either choose one of the IKEA appliances by Whirlpool or you can use a generic appliance under "Your Own" and you can specify the size.

I believe the Adel MB is solid wood frame and veneer panel (birch of course) and Liljestad is solid oak stained. All the cabinet boxes and fittings are identical, only the door, drawer front and cover panels are specific to a doorstyle.

It is under Base Cabinets/Open End Shelf (at the bottom of the list).

In the layout view (2D, not the 3D), click on the cabinet and either drag with your mouse or use the arrow keys. If you want it to not snap onto the wall or other cabinets, hold down the CTRL key while you're moving it.

You could simply use a cover panel to fabricate something. IKEA doesn't offer any triangular type cabinets. What are the exact dimensions of the space?

You can try increasing the ceiling height in the Room Layout view (the first button) May I ask why you want to stack three cabinets instead of using a tall cabinet?

IKEA offers several laminate countertops in stock sizes as well as wood countertops, and most IKEAs offer granite and engineered stone via outsourced vendors. You cannot separate the countertop from the cabinet in the planner, just subtract the cost from the total and tell your IKEAn you don't want countertops.

They will usually snap onto the side of the cabinet they are meant for, but the program isn't the greatest. Check the stickied threads at the top of the Kitchen Planning forum for lots of other tips and tricks.
We'd love to see your plans if you want to post them, if you're looking for some feedback!
I finally figured out how to shrink my file in order to attach it. It should be with the original post now.
I will work on the cover panels and use the trick for moving the cabinets under the window tomorrow. I am using the 12" base cabinets stacked 3 high because the space is 14" and the tall cabinet pantry cabinets are 15" at the narrowest. I have my ceiling hight up to 10 or 11 feet and they still won't stack. They show the base cabinets as having legs, and countertops, but it sounded like stacking them meant you didn't need the legs. Is there a way to chop the legs off in the program?
I did search under the IKEA appliances, but did not see the fridge or fan that I want to buy. But I can find them on the IKEA website - no problem.
If we go with the Liljestand, I think I will use the Markor dark brown piece in the bay area. It is the perfect width and almost the perfect depth. Do you think the Liljestand cabinets would pass well with the Markor piece? I noticed the Markor piece does not have full overlay doors, but other than that, they seemed to look pretty similar.
Any interior design opinions out there?
I appreciate any and all insight/suggestions. I am totally new at this.
I also want to mention that the wall just to the right of the bay window, directly across from the stove, is going to be knocked down to a knee wall with a countertop and two short stools under it. I just couldn't figure out how to show that.
Louise,
The Luftig fans are installed into a cabinet. If you select the size cabinet you want from the fan cabinet choices (in the choices 24" and shorter, look for WFR cabinets), in the drop down menus for that cabinet (at the upper left) there will be a place to select the fan model.
Picking sinks and cooktops work the same way - you select the sink base or cooktop base, then pick the sink or cooktop from the cabinet drop down list. Completely non-intuitive!
