Would appreciate your help. As you can see from the picture, I have empty space on top of the fridge and am planning (if possible) put glass wall cabinet on top of the fridge
The tricky bit is the fridge is not of the same depth of the wall cabinet beside it. In this situation, does the wall cabinet need to be of the same depth of the fridge or does it need to be of the same depth of the wall cabinet beside it?
Thanks everyone

Reason: spelling
You can choose to have the above fridge cabinet either 12" deep (the same as the cabinets beside it) or 24" deep (the same depth as your base cabinets, but probably a few inches shallower than your fridge). Usually, a 24" deep cabinet is preferable over the fridge because it's more accessible. Sometimes people put a large cover panel down the side of the fridge to make it look more built in.
I agree that either one could work here. The deeper cabinet in my new kitchen is way more useful than the shallow one I had before. If you use the deep one, you need to think about whether the cover panel along the fridge is needed visually. It might look odd to have the deep cabinet suspended over the fridge and sticking out beyond the wall cabs. Whichever one you use, be careful with measuring the height so you can be sure the top line matches the existing cabinets.
i was just about to say what eva said... one solution might be two horizontal glass cabs stacked (if you have 30", if not one is 15" tall). though i think that really limits use.
i love my 24" deep over fridge cab. i keep all my cookie sheets and odd shaped platters up there. but i'm a function over form chick. (btw, i've successfully mounted a horizontal glass door to a standard 24" deep cab. the door doesn't fit perfectly, but it does work...)

dulci, would you happen to have a pic of this...or some more info? i want to put an avsikt glass door sideways on a 30x15x24deep cabinet but have yet to put even a single cabinet together (much less create mods!). were you able to use the hinge hardware?
sorry to hijack the thread...but dulci led me there
it's not a great shot, but it's the cabinet above the oven (that is not a high pantry, it's a base cabinet and an above fridge with the oven mounted between)
I bought the horizontal cabinet for the hinges (still quite inexpensive and i figure i can use the cabinet for something else later), and a 30x15x24 fridge cab. i drilled the door for the ferrari hinge (only one fit well, so i'll use the leftover for another horizontal) and i drilled the cabinet for the hinge plates. It was really that easy. The door doesn't match up to the cabinet opening perfectly, but you can still adjust the hinges. We had trim "building in" the cabinet so the birch showing didn't effect us much.
I'll write a tutorial mod when i get some time... i think i took play by play pictures. maybe not, i was pretty tired by the time i got to that mod!
if that wasn't clear just let me know... it's not really a hijack, just an elaboration
fabulous, thank you! that might be enough for us to go on as i have a feeling that when i tell my husband about it and we have all the parts, the gears in his head will start rolling (highly energetic mechanical engineer).
and speaking of energy, i don't know how you were able to pull off such a gorgeous kitchen in so little time - good job!!
My only concern would be mounting the hinge to the Avsikt door. That's the aluminum frame with glass door, correct? I have these doors on some cabinets in my bar, and here is a pic of the inside frame, and how the ikea hinge mounts to it. Its not the same as the standard hinges:
Depending on how the ferrari hinge attaches, it may or may not work.....
the hinge would be fine since you "decide" where to drill for the hinge plate. But you're right about the Ferrari hinge. i had to drill like 4 times to get it right...that kitchen is at my mom's so i can't look at it till i'm there. however, IKEA does sell the Avsikt as a horizontal option so i'm thinking you'll be fine. I used a glass horizontal door, i wouldn't do it with a vertical door... but that's just me
