I put three 30" drawer stacks in my kitchen and on each of them I bought the 30" shallow drawer that typically would go in an oven stack and swapped out the pair of 15" shallow drawers on the top row. I figured it would be a fine idea to not lose the space that naturally would fall between two top drawers.
I avoided buying the

drawer dividers until it looked like we would get in the kitchen soon, since I believe that drawer dividers are the kind of thing that you don't know what you need until you are actually putting your stuff in there. I didn't want to buy them early and have trouble returning them. It looks like we are pretty close to being able to move into the kitchen (yes we started last Thanksgiving and yes we are PAYING somebody to do all this and yes it has taken them forever), so I went down today and bought a bunch of this and a bunch of that.
But when I went to buy the drawer dividers for my 30 " drawers - one of which will house pot lids so I need a few dividers, one will house cutlery so I need lots of dividers, and one will be my beloved junk drawer and so will need lots of dividers, I discovered that IKEA DOESN'T MAKE DIVIDERS FOR MY 30" DRAWERS.
My Ikean was surprised too and she said she would have to modify her own kitchen design because of what we learned. We figured we could take a the set of dividers for a 24" drawer and use it - leaving a 6" space over to one side.
Are there other solutions?
