Hi - I'm hoping there is a solution for this. We took down the soffits in the kitchen, so now we can use the 39" cabinets. We bought a Jenn Air hood that mounts under a cabinet, but minimum mounting height is 24" and max is 32". With 8 ft ceilings, the 17 3/4 extraction fan cabinet would not suffice for mounting this hood - it would be up way too high. Can any of the other cabinets accommodate a hood? If so which one do you think would work best. The plan is attached.

If you are mounting the wall cabinets up to the ceiling (96") you can use the 30" high wall cabinet - this will give you a height of 30" above the stove/cooktop.

I don't have the planner on this computer, so I can't see your layout, but anyways, they have 24" tall cabinets in both the 30" and 36" widths too.

We're using a 30" tall, 30" wide wall cabinet for our undercab hood. For my kitchen, it puts the distance between the hood and range at about 27". I have seen lots of pictures with people using the 24" tall, 30" wide wall cabinet as well. Good luck!

I popped the 30 x 30 in there and I think it looks pretty good. I was just concerned that since it wasn't a "fan cabinet" per se like the 17 that it would be hard to install the hood into it. Thanks for your suggestions!

There is nothing special about the 'fan cabinets' - they are regular wall cabinets just like all the others
