Has anyone done this?

My parents gave us thier hardly used nice undercabinet micro/fan combo. They said it attaches to the cabinet.

Will our cabinet hold this? Or will it all come crashing down? We thought it may attach to the wall some way?

If you mean an over the range micro, I think most of them attach to the wall and the cabinet. Ours came with a big mounting bracket that you had to screw into the studs in several places, and then some bolts to bolt it to the cabinet above it. The bracket takes most of the weight, and I don't think it would be safe without it.

I'm with kisaacs. Take a look around online for the spec sheet for your micro. I bet it requires a mounting plate. If it doesn't, then no...I don't think it's safe to hang it only from the cabinet.

I'm sure Tigger will be along with some technical/engineering wisdom, but my instinct is to go get that spec sheet and take a looksee...

We mounted ours with no problems. It attaches to both the back wall on a mounting bracket and the upper cabinet.

it likely fits in a bracket or mounting plate which is screwed into wall studs to bear the load. cabinet attachments are more for stability and to keep it from tipping.
