ikea usa has a site that contains sample kitchen designs for all the different cabinet styles. They tell you to download the planner, which I did, then download the quick start file for the kitchen you want, which I did. In my case it was the Adel birch.

The file seems to download but whenI go into the planner to open the file I get an error message. It doesn't happen with any files Icreate with the planner.

ikeas hasbeen no help.can someone else try and report back?

Here's what's been working for me: when you click on "download" choose "save" rather than "open" and save in another folder than what they give you as the default. Once its saved, you should be able to open it.

thansk nyc but I've tried this. man, this is really agravating.

hereare the steps I took;

1- went to the site

2-left clicked on "download plan"

3-clicked "save" not "open". Now, when I do this the default folder that comes up is from my own PC, not sure why it would matter where I put the file,but as you suggested I selected a different folderand it still didn't work.

The default folder that opens is the folder where I have my other Ikea.fpf floor plan files, that I made myself.

I reloaded the planner a few times but that still doesn't work.

Can these quick start files be shared via email???? If so, can you open the adel birch file and send to me?
