I saw this idea on another forum, and it's brilliant! The guy hinged a side panel with a magnetic catch, to reveal a recessed space in which he hung his slimline stepstool
Hmm...would there be a way to use this idea to put a dummy box to install electric outlets and light switches on the end of a a peninsula cab row?
Problem I guess is that the size of the end doesn't match up with the size of a door? Guess I could use a cover panel? What about the skinny strip on the door face of the cabs? Can't tell what he used there.
You could put two "faux doors" together to fill the space if you don't have a door large enough to cover the area. Just mount them to ply or something similar? Depends on the space you have to fill and whether that would be practical.
This is inspirational for me, actually. We have a niggling little gap between the fridge and the run of cabinets we have been trying to suss out what to do with. We ordered a pull out then realized the space would be too small for it, and had to abandon that idea. But I had forgotten we won't have our usual spot for my little stepladder to live. Now I know where I will put it! Nothing as cool as this, but is sparked the idea, so thanks for posting this!
TSund, there is a door for a wall cabinet that is 24x24, which should fit with some trim on top and bottom if you want. Or you could use two 12x30 doors from a wall cabinet.
