Using the kitchen planner, I have to address this. What exactly is it? Is it a molding for above cabinets as a trim, under cabinets to hide lighting, both? Dark brown to match Liljestad?

Well of course people around here use it for a lot of things- but it is intended to be under cabinet. You shouldn't have to select anything in the planner for decor strip...

No, I didn't have to select it but it came up in the planner and I'm trying to take the big, long ride to purchase without having any questions. I'd like to say without overlooking anything but what are the odds? Hopefully I won't wear out my welcome here as the questions come up!

The only deco strip for Liljestad is the contoured version which is used both as a light valance (under the wall cabs) and also a crown moulding (lying flat) at the top of the cabinets.

I'm thinking about putting this on top of my cabinets. But I have some questions. How thick is it? How do you attach it? Does any match the Arlig Medium brown (which is quite dark)? I wish Ikea had more detailed instructions before you buy. I live very far from a store so it is tough to get there to ask.
