I'm so happy that you are getting your Aga! Same color as mine, and I guaranty it will make you smile every time you walk in the kitchen. It will look fantastic with your cabinet color, too.
Thanks ladies! I am still a little nervous about the stove. Retails at $7,700 and this lady will sell it to us for $4,900. Which for us is still ALOT of money. But I don't think I have ever ever been so in love with an inanimate object before.
My husband is on a business trip in Florida but when he gets back he is going up to Vermont! Yahoo!
Jen - you can come hang out on my radiant floors anytime this winter I will cook you something yummy on the Aga. Mac & Cheese!
My cabinets are here! My lord - my head spins looking at all those boxes. We have until the 14th to inspect and return if needed. We need to get cracking on putting these together. I will post some photos when I have something to show!
We do not have the stove yet as we are waiting on a bank inspection and for them to release some more money to us. Fingers crossed!
And I might change the color of my cabinets to a different green that I saw in a friend's house when we were up in Maine last week. Not sure you can see this color from a photo of her kitchen on her web site:
Hopefully I will have some photos to post this time next week!
Well - once you figure out that first cabinet the rest really are easy. I have a hard time understanding the stupid Swedish pictograms! I have to re-do the cabinet for the Domsjo sink as I didn't realize the needed parts are in with the actual sink. Joy. So here are shots of where I am today: http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/5...hen-pantry.jpg
I think I am going to do the cabinets in Benjamin Moore's Saybrook Sage. I will do a test run this weekend on the other side of the cabinet door from the AS-IS section.
We have a bank inspection today for more disbursement of funds. I hope it will be a big disbursement as we have alot of contractor's to pay!! If I really think about all the money we owe and will owe the bank for 30 years I feel sick to my stomach. ugh. ah well!
Also - in laying the cabinets out in my actual kitchen area and not on a piece of paper or the computer - I am re-thinking the idea of putting my dishwasher in the island. I think it might be too much of a haul from the sink that will be under that window.
I sort of ordered my kitchen by the seat of my pants. So we will see if all the cabinets work or if I need to order more! At least from ordering to them coming in was only a week, so not too bad if I do need to order one or 2 more.
I will post back again when I have the door painted Saybrook Sage and see what you all think!
I'm very excited to see your kitchen progress as well as the whole Timberframe home as it progresses. Great blog! We have been considering the possibility of a Timberframe home as our next project on a separate lot behind our house... (I love our old house, but it's challenges are certainly evident during this kitchen project.)
Eager for more pix,
bk
They have a new house kit that looks amazing. Wish it had been a possibility for us, but I think it would be out of our budget. I drool looking at all these photo. sigh. Maybe someday! http://www.earlynewenglandhomes.com
Haven't tried the new color on the cabinets yet. Will post a photo as soon as I have!
