Thank you all. I was down sweeping away tonight. We will start sanding tomorrow. Feeling somewhat overwhelmed as it seems like such a mess. ugh. Here are some shots of the stove in its place!
It's Beautiful!!!! Congratulations on the CoO.... Christmas Eve will be such a treat for you, your family and friends ... I'd be overwhelmed ... and so excited at the same time.
Doreen
Thank you Doreen! Spent a tiring weekend sanding floors. We have varying width wide pine floors through the whole house. It all needed sanding. ugh. I am a pro floor sander now! Still have our bedroom to do, our bathroom and the entrance foyer. Started putting the Tung Oil on the floors. Even with a mask on I almost passed out from the fumes. Yuck!
So more of that tomorrow as we have a bank inspection tomorrow afternoon. We are trying to get all the floors done so we can move in on Saturday and have Christmas Eve dinner on Sunday. It will probably be the first time I cook in my stove, so it should be interesting! The stove is all hooked and looking beautiful.
After Christmas I will start painting our cabinets. The island will be that grey/green and the cabinets by the stove and along the wall will be cream. Haven't figured out what cream!
So bad - we are doing Take out again tonight. I am too pooped to cook!!
That stove makes my heart pitter pat...really...just pitter pat. Mostly because it's fargin' freezing in my house right now and a warm Aga would be lovely ('course, in the summer with no A/C? Could be a different story).
Anyway - it's all coming along so brilliantly. I love it. And the cream cabinets sound just delicious. Good luck with everything.
Dana, Your moiving in Saturday & you think you will be able to cook a Christmas Eve dinner the next day???? . You truly are the energizer bunny. Are you planning to put up a tree too?
I'm sure you have already done this but: make sure you have all of your pots, pans, dshes, silverware etc. that you need for your dinner all in one box and in the back of your car and the box marked in large marker letters: Christmas dinner!!! You'd hate to not be able to find what you need in all the moving stuff.
Jen & Shouva - Well - nothing happened today as the stomach bug got me at 4:00 am this morning and I was violently sick till about 1:00 or so. oh the joys of germie young children!
Jen - I have the Aga Six-Four that is not a radiant cooker. It has 4 electric ovens and 6 gas burners. The real Aga that is on all the time, which Kathy has, intimidated me too much.
Shouva - I had not thought about packing the kitchen stuff that way. We live in a little house near our new house so moving won't be too bad. And doesn't need to be done all at once. But I still am probably nuts! My mom will be helping with the Christmas dinner. And yes - we are going to do a tree. Nuts!!
Well - we moved in on Friday and cooked both Christmas Eve and Day dinner there. SUCH heaven! I will post photos when I can. We do not have internet access there yet. Nor TV. Which is kind of nice!!
