Oh, but we'll always love you Jen! I'd love to get a disc of the show! Either that, or I'll have to make arrangements to go to my MIL's on the date of the showing. I'd much rather have a disk that I can watch at my own leisure.

Ha! You say that now! But wait until you see me go on and on about hating wallpaper and light fixtures that are crappy because I cannot think of a single, solitary, original thing to say about a particular room because really? In reality? No-one spends 20 minutes looking at a bedroom when they're house hunting! NO ONE! And no one goes in tamden with their realtor and husband from room to room in a house hunt - it's unnatural!
Really? James and I went from room to room with our tape measure, taking measurements and drawing sketches -- I kid you not. Our realtor thought we were whacked. We were intent on instant renovation. Now, THAT's funny, because 6 years later we still have the same crappy kitchen. Although the **** brown appliances have been replaced...

After much cursing, on our contractor's part, we got the drywall guy to show up. And he had his cool drywalling stilt thingymabobs - so cool. So we have drywall installed, taped and mudded. I believe he's finishing it up tomorrow.
Soooooo....I think that Tony will start installing cabs next week while we're away! Whoopee! The floors will also get refinished next week while we're out of town - should make for an exciting Saturday when we get home.
WOW! It's looking amazing Jen! I am about to go to New Haven tomorrow to order my cabinets. I have a rough plan and my builder will be making some corner cabs for us - but I figure if I screw up on the order New Haven is only a 45 minute drive for me and I can return stuff.
How fun that you will be on House Hunters! My mom loves that show and I have seen it a few times. I promise - we won't hate you!
Here's the secret Chabuchie...those houses may have been the only ones the realtor could find where the homeowner agreed to do it and where the agent wasn't a PITA. We tried to film two of the houses that we really had looked at on our house hunt. One of the agents never got back to us in time and the other one was a ... well ... she was difficult. She made all sorts of ridiculous demands and the HH producers told her to pound salt. Whatevah. In the end we were filmed looking at two houses that we'd never seen before and weren't buying (although, in our case, the houses fit the criteria of our house search).
Oooh Dana...did you get your cabs? Are you still planning on painting them? What did you decide as your final plan? Who did you work with at the New Haven IKEA?
As for us, I'm frantically finishing up laundry and packing to go away for the week. 14.5 hours in the car with three children under 7 and 7 days with my inlaws - wish me luck people...wish me luck.
Tony's hung the wall cabinets on one side of the room.
Makes it finally seem real somehow! Whoopee!
I can't wait to see what it'll look like when we get back next Saturday.
Bet you're gonna be biting your nails to get back and see what's been done!! The floor is going to look beautiful. That's a long time in a car with three kids!!
Can you believe I drive 60 kids at a time every morning for work!! A total of over 200 kids per day. (I usually refrain from telling people I left a desk job to become a school bus driver in our school district. People tend to look down their nose at you. But, it's fairly decent pay, I'm off with the kids on the holidays (and paid for it) and I get the summer off if I want to). And I have to say, I love my kids!!!
