We're making progress. We're doing everything (except new window) ourselves. Cabinets two weeks (or less) away, flooring here this week, appliances this week or next. Here are some pix:

We'll post an update next week once the floor is in and all the old cabinets are out. We had some unusual challenges here. For one, the existing windows were installed too low, so there was no way we could keep them and add countertop at the south end of the run. We removed two east windows and installed a very large 4' x 4' window on the south wall. The existing cabinets were some kind of big box retailer junk. They now live in my garage... and they look crappy in there, too.

Flooring was... um... interesting. High-end vinyl (the kind that doesn't look like crummy, fake tile) was nearly $1,000, so I'm putting in Bruce solid maple instead ($100 more). That necessitated a switch from Adel Birch to Duvbo cabinets. We like Duvbo just fine, but actually chose it with resale in mind. If we planned to stay here, we'd have been more adventurous (Applad Blue Grey, maybe).

It's been an adventure. First week of June my wife and son go to New Jersey to visit the in-laws and I have two weeks from then to finish the job. In all, it'll be an interesting two weeks.

It's Benjamin Moore Sherwood Green. The Whetherford Moss was a reject. It was too brown. The Sherwood Green is cooler and a little more yellow.

We got some color on the walls this morning. It was the only thing we can do while we wait for flooring and cabinets to arrive.

Making progress. I have installed the maple floor, put the doors and decor strips on the upper cabinets and installed the undercabinet lights today. I'll put together base cabinets tonight and tomorrow and get those installed. Here's a picture:
