So, we have a small galley kitchen - some might call it tiny, but I've seen tiny and this one is just small
130" down the length and 105" wide. Started out in very ghastly shape - hobbled together unmatching cabs, peeling vinyl floor tiles & slanting counter top. Also an un-useable coat closet stuck right into the middle of it. I say un-useable because it was not deep enough for a hanger to hang straight.
The window faces north and the sink is on the west wall. I think I've posted these pics, but am going to put them all here to have a complete progress in one spot!
North wall....
Here is my dh looking jolly, somewhere before wallboard but after gutting. It really has all started to blur together!
He is standing in front of the spot where we are putting in a little breakfast bar. He made steel brackets - they are now buried behind wallboard, so we'll have that snazzy floating look! (Thanx hun!!) I haven't been able to decide on the bar/counter material. Leaning toward birch to match the cabs - don't want anything cold like stone or steel...... hmmmm
these next pics are photos I took of my ikea layouts. I'm on a Mac and work on the layouts at a friends. By work on, I mean do battle with the kitchen design program! Nononono, i love it, it is a wonderful free resource .......mumble mumble curse curse
east wall -
Want to put an appliance garage underneath the micro shelf. I read somewhere on here that the maple matches birch Hurray! I have 6 outlets under there with a kill switch on the outside of where the garage will be - I'll never have to unplug & replug again! Will put floures. under lights on the remaining cabs.
OK through the miracle of time-lapse internet....
wallboard is up and painted, flooring in - ta da!
colors -
all walls - Devine Spice (I know it looks like different colors but it isn't!)
ceiling = Devine 50% Jacaurd
floors - marmoleum Slate Grey
cute kid - homemade!
