So we've got some paint, some lighting, and the walls are prepped for more paint. The tigerwood flooring is in boxes on the floor, the cabinets are in the back hall and garage...maybe by the end of next week we'll have cabinets in, and then the wait for the granite begins.

Looking good.. What goes at the windows that look out over the driveway? Those appear nice and let in lots of light.

Before the reno began, we had very thin white blinds (barely visable and always open) on the windows, with chocolate brown tab top panels on either side of each window to anchor it. They were hung on a brunished brown bar. We've just started to consider how the room will be furnished post-reno, but I really liked the minimalist look of it, and despite the fact it's my driveway, it's very private and faces west. As a sun lover, I like to let as much in as possible.

I like the color combos and those pendants are simple yet have lots of style.

Once you start cracking open those boxes then the fun begins.

Fortunately for us, we have a contractor doing the work. I'm afraid I might be pretty dangerous with a brad nailer!
