Re: opinions on MANSTAD sofa bed

Just to revive an old thread. Does anyone have any major complaints about the Manstad. It isn't exactly cheap here in Australia but my partner and I really like it but after reading stan1's comments, we are very reserved on commiting to get one.

We will be mostly using the sofa as a sofa and only occassionally as a sofa bed (when we have guests over). We will however, probably put it as a sofa bed for us to rest our feet on when we're watching a movie. Therefore, I was wondering if the cushions actually maintain their shape and comfort over the months. It makes total sense what stan1 has said, that being foam, it could tend to sink in over time and we would not want that.

Any opinions?

Thumbs up Re: opinions on MANSTAD sofa bed

I too have been eying the Manstad for several months, but I've been trying to convince my better half that its worth the money. We bought a 900.00 sofa from a big furniture store and it broke twice. But a very close friend of mine has the Manstad and has had it for over 4 years. She loves it. I sleep on it when I visit. Granted I don't know what it was like exactly when she bought it, but it's still extremely comfortable! It's held up to 5 grown women napping on it on several occasions!

I bought the manstad for our condo and our son loved sleeping on it. He is well over 6' tall and can't sleep in most traditional beds. I've ordered a slip cover from comfort works, since the covers are sewn on and you can't remove them. I also plan to buy a pillow top for added protection and comfort.

Geez, and I nearly forgot the extra storage in the lounge!!

I highly recommend this sofabed.
Is it actually comfortable to sleep on? We used to have an Ektorp sofabed, slept on it one night, and returned it the next day! Very uncomfortable. I really want to find one that is comfortable to sleep on.

Yes, he thought it was very comfortable. I read another post about the cushions wearing down into a valley. Since we just bought it and probably won't use it but occasionally, I don't see that being a problem. But, I plan on getting a pillow top anyway.
