"case study"-esque sofa

Hi, does anyone know the name/years available of this sofa?

(I am imagining that it was only available a long time ago when Ikea was barely beginning in the USA , but apparently the first Ikea in the US was in Plymouth Meeting, PA? THERE IS HOPE YET.)

It doesn't look like any IKEA piece I remember. Do you have any more information about the piece that leads you to think it's from IKEA?

And you are correct - the first US IKEA opened in the summer of 1985 in Plymouth Meeting, PA.

Hi, Chuck!

In the house tour writeup, it says:

Moses entered into the relationship with a case study sofa he bought at IKEA while he was in school. It's getting on in years, but has proved the most functional piece we own (and makes the office function as a guest room).

I was hoping you'd see this one - I must have slept through that brief period in 2004.

Re: "case study"-esque sofa

Acquired one yesterday (31 days post-inquiry!) for the tune of $125. :D It's the boring beige color and the blond wood (I've seen a more walnut-brown one in pictures before); I may paint the wood something glossy (probably black, must maintain contrast with the white accents) and rit-dye the cover. weu weu has slipcovers for it, and they are almost absurdly cheap, but no fabrics I particularly favor (I sold a superficially similar west elm sofa in an excellent excellent crushed gray velvet to make space for the lessebo, so that downgrade does make me a little sad....) It is quite comfy to sleep on!
