Smile My Experience - Kitchen via IKEA Direct

Thanks to weeks of planning and IKEA Fans, I ordered my new kitchen via IKEA direct.

The experience wasn't bad at all, but you have to be organized. After speaking with my IKEAn on the phone, I emailed them my planner file and a list of misc. items that the planner didn't have.

Within an hour I had a complete order list emailed back. There was one missing part and a lot of the cabinet shelving was listed as birch instead of white, which they should have been. Spend some time verifying everything is correct before you sign the order.

It took a few days of emailing back and forth to get the order correct and the paperwork signed. The employees were friendly and helpful, and it was a much better experience than you'd get at a big box hardware store.

Shipping costs accounted for 25% of the total bill, but it was still cheaper than renting a u-haul and paying $$$ for gas and hotel.

Overall I give IKEA Direct a solid B.

Re: My Experience - Kitchen via IKEA Direct

nice simple assessment. glad you had a positive experience. and a B is pretty good for a no-nonsense (or a lot of nonsense ) store, i think of ikea like one of the no-frills warehouse stores.

thank you for following up

Great review! Mind adding your comments to the entry in the store directory?

Glad you're satisfied. I find that being organized is really crucial in any project and it's a super plus in dealing with IKEA.

Good luck on your project.

Please upload pics as you're going along as we love to see pics.
