remote purchasing?
I thought I heard of a service that was offered, not necessarily officially through IKEA, where someone would purchase and send IKEA merchandise to you that couldn't be ordered over the website? Does anyone have any info on this?

Hello haligonian, welcome to IKEAFans!
I've heard of a couple, one in the UK and something similar, a delivery service, maybe in Florida. There is certainly a market for that service in lots of places. Anyone know of one that serves Canada?

I wish such a service was offered. I ordered a pack of four cabinet legs. Shipping was $28! And it's not speedy at all.

I think there's a huge opportunity for someone to do this.
