Here is my idea for a dog feeding station using a 12" deep x24" wide cabinet. I figured that either a shelf or a piece of countertop as a shelf could have 2 holes cut in it. Then the dog dishes fit in. There could even be a small sink and cold tap installed so the doggy has a constant supply of fresh water.
I just wish I could figure out how to store the dog food in it as well.
Do you think the heights are right? That bottom drawer front is 6.25" + toekick of 4" = 10.25". Is that good for most dogs?
Stacylu and Craig had a really nice pullout solution for dog food, the last thing to tweak was the support for the front edge. Maybe if we asked really nicely she could be convinced to post some pictures?
IIRC
Craig had used LANSA (?) handles to hold the food bins front and back... It was a really nice setup.

I think so- most dogs are eating from bowls right on the floor, so unless they are toy breeds, any elevation is probably good for them.
Could you make the top two drawers a pull out and fit it with a rubbermaid tote??
The top 2 drawers could be combined and use a 12.5" bottom drawer front of an 11.75" middle drawer front. I just don't know how much food it would store. I guess the big bag could be elsewhere and you would just keep the drawer bin topped up so daily feeding is easier.
So now Mod experts, how to we turn this top drawers that is 12.5" high, but only 9" deep into are version of the pullout below? (Don't the 12" deep cabinets only have 9" drawers?)

If you could find a narrow container for the dog food, you could put it sideways. For instance Rubbermaid has a 14 quart waste can that is only 13.08 x 8.56 x 12.61 in that could fit - a little wider would work since those measurements are for the top flange which can overhang the edges a little. There is a 21 quart one but it would hang down well past the bottom of the drawer front.
I like the idea of the cabinet having open head space for the doggy. But if one wanted, they could use a door and a pullout - then pullout the bottom drawer for the doggy when it is chow time. But then the water isn't available 24/7. Anyone any ideas?
Would a full depth cabinet with the dog food stored in a bin (they have big roughly trashcan sized bins with lids just about everywhere- that way it would actually seal) behind the food tray area work? You could make the whole area slide out, and just put a panel on the back of the food/water area- it would look about the same as the sketch up, only full depth.
