I wanted to cut grundtal bars to length so that they can fit where I need them, but they have nuts soldered into the ends. I thought someone here might be able to offer some advice. I'd consider using another bar, but I really like the look of the grundtal. I wouldn't mind using the grundtal bar with some other mounting hardware. Thanks.

Call around to a few metal working shops until you find someone who can (for a reasonable price) re-thread them for you? Love the Gruntdal shelf, but was too big for my space too.

It's been a few years since my metalsmithing days, but I might be able to solder a nut into the rail. I no longer have access to the metal shop at school, but do you think the solder from the hardware store would be strong enough? I won't be able to see the ends anyway, so if I'm a little sloppy it won't be a big deal.
