I have 43 (
W
) x 23.5 (D) space next to a wall where I want to build a back bar. The base of the bar should be able to hold a beer keg in a tub, so I want to use 20-24 inch depth here. Also, I would like to use as close to 43 inches wide as possible.
Ideally, I want to have single slab glass shelves on the top half of the back bar. However, separated glass shelves will also do.
I tried using Besta system but that is only 17 inch deep ... so are other bookshelf storage systems. I am looking at kitchen cabinet systems as of now.
Any ideas, pointers ... Thanks.
W definition
W is a wall cabinet designation, as in W18, can be a stand-in for Wide, or when followed by a / stands for With.
You know, anything that I can do to further a bar, I'm on board with. That said, I'm not 100% clear on what your space looks like. Any chance that you could post a photo and more detailed measurements?
With that info, I think you'd get some input for sure!
The keg is of 16-3/8" diameter and 23-3/8" height. Approx 6" top clearance is required. I want to put the keg in a tub of ice ... so want to use as much depth as possible (min 20 inch).
I want to have front panel doors to hide the keg and have a wooden shelf on keg height + clearance (5-6").
If the keg is closed off in a cabinet how is anyone going to pump it. You might want to think about getting a kegerator instead and then building some cabinets and shelves around it. Then you won't have to worry about pumping or condensation.
