I'm know this has been answered before, but I'm having a hard time finding it.
Is the shelf that the oven sits on in the high oven cabinet adjustable?
Can the top portion be less than 15"?
My goal is to have a single wall oven and a built in microwave above with the following stack (top to bottom):
15" doors (ideally 12" but I'm not sure how to do it -- use 12 x 15 drawer fronts?)
18" space for microwave
29" space for wall oven
12" drawer
6" drawer
I'm only afraid this is too tight tight . I'm really hoping I can get that 18" of space from the base to the wall oven, otherwise it will be too low for my taste.
All the shelves are adjustable, including the oven shelf.
I have an 80" cabinet and have, from the top, 15" doors, 18" space for microwave (not built in just on a shelf), 33" for oven (oven is smaller than that but that is the size of the oven panel), and two 6.25" drawers at the bottom, so yes, you seem a little tight.
I originally had a 12.5" tall drawer at the bottom, but with storing cast iron pans down there, the two shallower drawers work better - I don't have to shuffle heavy pans to find the size I need.
Thanks! Especially for the bonus advice -- we're big cast iron pan users so that's a great tip.
Good for cookie sheets and the like too I suppose, although it was my hope to put those in the 15" cabinet above, creating some sort of vertical shelving inside. I'll be surfing the site for that next.
I should get a vertical storage for my 15" space - I have one shelf and store my cookie sheets and large low metal pans up there. And it is NOT efficient. Plus, I can just barely reach the upper shelf. If we had vertical storage, I could reach the bottoms of everything just fine.
That's what I'm talking about -- I'm 5'4" according to everything but my driver license, which refuses to round up. Definitely post here if you figure out how to hack something.
