I bought three of the 4" Basisk pendant lamps for over the breakfast bar and one of the 8" Basisk pendant lamp for over the breakfast table. They're the type that you can run the cord along the ceiling, down a wall and to a power source but we've got boxes in the ceiling for hardwired fixtures. Is there a way to convert the plug-in to hardwired?

As long as there isn't a power converter, just cut off the plug and install it like the plug wasn't there.

Yep, you will find two wires inside, and possibly a ground wire. Attach them as you would a hardwire fixture.

This also works in reverse...you can put a plug on a hardwire fixture if you want to.

Sheesh you guys. Could you have made it sound just a little bit difficult? Just a weensy bit? So I don't feel like a big fat loser?

I'll need to buy a canopy huh? To cover up the hole in the ceiling?

Of course, now I saw these and I'm in love (click on the links to take you to the website). I heart that second one with the cream on green...

That's a great pendant. Lowes or Home Depot should have something for you to cover up the wiring. Depending on your preferences, you can buy individual circles for the top of each, or a bar with three holes for them. I think Lowes might have a better selection of these than Home Depot (although Home Depot has better pendants).
