I tried getting the suggested custom color on the FAQ page (Olympic HIgh Gloss White 76003 (also Base-2), 101-+1, 114-2. 116-0+2 Quart)mixed \twice, but both have come out far too pink. (Also, it confused the paint counter folks as Base-2 is apparently 76002, while Base-3 is a medium level tint... probably too dark?)
Anyway, back to the drawing board. I want to paint my cabinet trim (light rail, etc.) to match the Adel white doors... could go w/ a little more shine (but preferably not a high gloss). Anyone have any luck in getting a match? Any suggestions for getting a custom color match?
Can you take a door in and have them use the paintcomputer to do a match?

Don't waste your time with the computer match. Depending on how experienced your paint person is, they may tell you that a computer match would work because it's a flat surface -- but the sheen will totally throw off the computer and the color won't be a match (three guesses how I know this ). You're better off working with someone who really knows what they're doing, at a time when the paint store/dept. is not busy, and they can tweak the white by hand -- for instance, if it's too pink, they can add a drop of whatever would counteract pink. This custom-tweaking method is not foolproof, because what looks like it matches in the store may look different in your home's lighting, but usually you can bring mixed paint back for more tweaking if it's still not right. Unfortunately, whites are very, very tricky since there's a limited amount of color they can add and still be white. (If it helps any, I got the impression it would be easier with a gallon than a quart, because they could add more pigment to the larger size.) Good luck!
I will make a note that the match listed has been reported to be too pink.
As for a better match, I would recommend going to a Benjamin Moore, ICI Dulux or your favorite high quality paint store. Forget HD/Lowes. You need someone who really knows their paints.
Let us know what you find?

I'm in exactly the same place with the Adel White match. HD/Lowes is confused by the color code posted here. They haven't gotten close in the two times they've tried. If I get it right at another store, I'll post the solution here
Hi I am a newbie to the fan site. I just ddid my kitchen in adel white and found the perfect match for the paint at Home Depot it is the Ralph Lauren line, urban style color called Studio White. It is so close and the best match by far without any color formulas to remember !
