I would like to install a built-in oven at below-counter height in a base cabinet that will be part of an island. I don't seean "oven" base cabinet onIkea's website. Do I just go to Home Depot and buy a generic "box" that fits? Thanks.

You'd use a 30" base cabinet. You may even be able to get a 30" shallow drawer underneath, with a slightly modified drawer front.

I'll see if I can dig up some pictures. Someone around here will probably beat me to it, though.

I didn't see any further follow up to this question, but we would also need to be able to install a built-in oven in a base cabinet, 36" in our case. I would love to see photos and a more detailed explanation of how to go about this.

In the first picture, you can see that the oven is smaller than the cabinet so it is surrounded by an oven panel. Other ovens whose trim fits the cabinet exactly don't need a panel.

IKEA cabinets are bought as componenets so you'll need the 36"W base cabinet frame, legs, and most likely an oven panel. Usually the oven panels are only 30"W so you may need to buy a larger panel and cut it down. If the oven needs to be higher than the floor of the cabinet, you'll want a sturdy shelf or build a frame.

If you are planning to install a cooktop over the oven, check the installation specs for both appliances, some have had troubles with this.

I haven't installed one myself, but hopefully these comments will help you get started.

Thanks, Gloria :-) I will show DH the photos tonight. Our oven is wide but relatively shallow, so I guess we would have to cut down an edge piece of some sort.

If your oven is as wide as the cabinet, then you could use a drawerfront or a piece of one to fill in the remaining. If there's room, you may even be able to install a working drawer.
