Ikea offers a good selection of standard drawer box widths, but for three cabinets in my old-fashioned, cubed-shape kitchen, three drawer boxes will need a custom width. I ordered an M size tandembox rear bracket for the narrower kitchen Ikea drawer. TheÂ* holes on the bracket lined up exactly with those on the Ikea metal drawer back, but for some reason the orientation of the bracket do not "sit" correctly within the sides of the Ikea drawer box. Has anyone else had this experience? Did I just receive a pair of bad brackets?Any suggestions? I could order the Blum tandembox system for just those 3 drawers, but the price will be at least twice as much compared with the Ikea drawers.Â*

Yep. IKEA's Blum boxes are proprietary, and can't be mixed with regular Blum hardware.

We too have a strange, old kitchen, and we ordered a single drawer box from Scherr's to fit the spot, then cut a drawer front and painted it to match. It's different from the Tandemboxes--it's a dovetailed wood drawer, but it doesn't bother us to have different drawer construction.

Anyway, yes, if you want Blum and in a different size than IKEA offers, you'll have to pay the price. Sorry!
