All puns aside, I'm going up to Ikea on Saturday to pick up two 15" doors that I'm cutting down to put on my existing face-frame corner base cabinet. I plan to cut them to size, cutting the hinge holes off entirely, and then drilling new holes for them. I just don't have very detailed measurements of where to put the holes for Ikea hinges.
I need to know how far from the edge to drill the cup holes on each door. I've already purchased a 35 mm drill bit from Rockler, as well as their "Jig-It" tool to hold the drill steady so that I won't need a drill press. I'm in no hurry to do any of this, as I want to allow myself plenty of time to prepare so that I only do this once.
Also, am I to assume that a table saw is the way to go over a circular saw? I'll also be cutting a 24"x88" cover panel into a 12"x88" cover panel, so getting a long, perfectly straight line is a priority.
In addition, is there any reason not to leave the blue film on my doors when I cut them? I know about adding the masking tape, but I was hoping to leave the film on as long as possible so that I can avoid scratching the doors as I carry them up and down the stairs.
Sorry for the long post, but I'm getting a little nervous here.
Nervous? You? You've never struck me as the nervous type! Is this for your problem corner? Or another one?
I'll see if I can get a measurement for you -- I think I may have a spare AS-IS door lying around.

I would definitely recommend a table saw for cutting - I recently bought a Freud Diablo melamine cutting blade and it works great. Leave the film on while cutting - it will help with a clean cut.
chabuchie -- Sorry, our fixin's for this Sunday's Annual Crab Feast are all in front of said door. I can't get to it until at least Monday. If it's a long term question, and you don't get an answer by then, feel free to shoot me a PM or post back here to remind me to measure.

I can definitely use those measurements for one door, but I think the holes for the hinge that connects the two doors may be drilled differently than the ones for the hinge that connect the door to the cabinet. I'm in no hurry to get these measurements, as it looks like rain for the foreseeable future here. I'll have to rent a table saw and use it in the parking lot here, so as long as it's really wet, I won't be working on this.
I thought of another measurement I don't have - how much smaller is the door than the cabinet on these? I know the standard door sizes from where they're posted on here, but I think that with the corner doors there must be a difference.
Susan, this is for the same problem corner. I found that I could make do with a magnetic catch, but I could barely get into the cabinet because the doors had to go on swinging towards the range in order to fit right, so they only opened 90 degrees. Oh, and I'm not usually the nervous type (unusually high degree of self-efficacy), but I just don't want to waste another cent on this kitchen. I'm still angry that I allowed my mother to talk me into refacing. Ripping everything out would have been cheaper in the long run, and I've had been a lot happier with the results. Now I have my old, adequate but not perfect, drawer glides and a painted finish to the actual cabinet frames. Plus I haven't been able to use many fun interior fittings. I can use some, but that requires modification for which I just don't have the time.
As I was mulling this over after posting, it finally occurred to me that you were talking about the corner hinges. Duh! That's too bad about the re-surfacing being mediocre. At least you have your brother's kitchen to do next!
Unfortunately the little jerk has a roommate who thinks he has taste, so I haven't been able to decorate as much as if he hadn't rented out the room. He hasn't been particularly forthcoming with the rent though, so maybe he'll be gone soon. That said, my brother can't stand the roommate anyway, but he's too much of a wuss to throw him out. Ross (the brother) is out of town for the weekend, so I plan on being really intrusive the whole time. It's all good stuff - measuring rooms, going to Ikea, bringing back Billy bookcases.
