We needed 3.25" tallfeet, not almost 4" tall feet. It was an easy modification.
1. Take the flat bottom plate off.
2. Remove the pips from each side of the threaded part. We used a razor knife.
3. Screw the upper part down entirely into the lower part (past where the pips used to make them stop).
4. Jam spare scrap of wood (like a shim) into the opening in the top of the foot. This is a safety handle for the next step.
5. Cut the thickened "foot" off with a miter saw, taking some of the screw threads with it.
6. Unscrew the top part, flip it to the other side, and screw it in there - this is important, as the sawed side will not be even. This flip-part makes the "factory" edge the new bottom of the foot.
7. Use hot glue to stick the cylindar to the bottom plate.
