I want to modify my Malm double bed to incorporate a LCD at the end of the bed similar to a TV bed. my first thoughts were to build a shelf at the end of the bed as i do not have a ikea mattress so my standard on is slightly smaller in length. this meant there would of just been enough depth to build a shelve for the base of a LCD and i would secure the LCD to the shelf.
My second thought was to buy a EXPEDIT bookcase and lay it on its side at the end of the bed but this would take a lot of room up.
then i thought TV's on TV beds are attached to the end of the bed. so if i could create a board at the end of the bed i could mount the TV on that. i then noticed that you could buy Malm headboards separate so could i take off the bottom of the bed and attach another headboard to the end of the bed. i had a look at the screws and screw holes and they look exactly the same at each end.
so my question is could a buy another headboard and replace it with the bottom end of the bed so i would have a headboard at each end?
would the screw holes match up?
would the headboard be able to take the weight of a 22" LCD TV?
