Question Covering holes inside kitchen cabinets?

Hi - I'm considering buying IKEA cabinets over Kraftmaid. IKEA, but one thing is holding me back. I don't like that when you open the cabinets, you can see all the little holes down the sides of the cabinet frames. This just screams unfinished to me, and looks cheap.

Has anyone used any modifications to cover up these holes once installing the shelves at the desired height? I know that would take out any adjustability on the shelving, but wondered if that had been done by anyone before.

Thanks!

Spackle, woodfiller, or the little plastic buttons you can buy have all been used by folks here.

Oh, and welcome to Ikeafans, and congratulations if your screen name is true!

Thanks for the ideas of spackle or wood filler. Does this still work if we do the birch interior?
Yes - trying to get the remodel done before the baby arrives

Re: Covering holes inside kitchen cabinets?

Yeah, spackle for white, wood filler for birch. Good luck on getting all the projects done in time.

Re: Covering holes inside kitchen cabinets?

We are using 3/16" locking, white plastic cabinet plugs for the white cabinets. You can get them in white from Home Depot. You can get them in white, black, or wood from widegetco.com (we haven't ordered from widgetco so can't vouch for them). It took us a while to source these so HTH shorten your search!

Re: Covering holes inside kitchen cabinets?

Do you know if the 3/16" will also work for the inside of Besta cabinets? I did not find any hole plugs at Homes Depot, but will continue to look...

Re: Covering holes inside kitchen cabinets?

3/16" is too big. You need 3 mm for BESTÅ.

Re: Covering holes inside kitchen cabinets?

I'm trying to do the same but for the Besta line. Took me an hour to find this thread on the web to even get the hole size of 3mm so thank you... Now for the hard part. I've been searching the web for an hour trying to find 3mm white plugs to no avail... PLEASE HELP!

100 St. Abdeckstopfen, Kunststoff, weiß, für Bohrungen ab 2,5 mm | eBay

You would choose 12 x 3,0 x 6 mm, but they don't ship to the US.
If you don't find anything and don't mind the costs, I might send it to you.
