We remodeled our kitchen in 2006, using Akurum wall and base cabinets. We chose the light green glass with aluminum frame Akvist doors for the wall cabinets. Over time, the hinges, which are not unlike a knee joint, have failed. Increasing the tightening works only so long, one gets to a point where they just explode into copper bearings all over the place. At first, I was able to get replacement hinges at the local IKEA, now, they are out of stock, and their promise to have them sent to me is now three months old. Contacting corporate was of no use, their best idea was adding the damper to the hinge, so it would not fall down on the user. First of all, the damper does not fit the hinge, second, this is, IMHO , a design flaw. Has anyone come across a replacement hinge that actually works? Thanks

That thread may give you some ideas. It sounds like they've changed to some other style in place of the Ferrari version...?
I tried poking around the internet for an aftermarket source of the same style and came up with nothing. Might be worth your while to dig a little deeper, however.
