How to make best use of a 49" corner cabinet?

I bought a 49" corner kitchen cabinet and don't really think those half-circle lazy susan fittings are a good use of the space. Has anyone else done anything creative with this kind of cabinet? Thanks!

I'm looking at that, too. Others have mentioned the Lee Valley blind corner units and I'm considering using those for our two blind corners.

Rev-A-Shelf has a similar unit, but for a whole lot more $$$$$!

Check out the thread here: Blind Corner unit from Lee Valley

Hope that helps!

Thanks! Any other ideas?

Thanks! I'll think about that option--any other ideas out there?

Wow, thanks for linking the Lee Valley option. I have four 49" cabinets. One underneath the counter on one side of the kitchen (this one was actually cut down by a few inches to fit) and three more stacked on each other on the direct the other side. We are going to use the stacked ones to tuck big items in the corner but we'll keep the Lee Valley option in mind. A little pricey but it is good to have the option.

I'm not sure what you mean? Clearance for the Lee Valley unit? Here is a picture. I haven't installed the doors yet b/c I'm still installing the appliances in the oven cabinet next to it (oven, warming drawer, 220 advantium).

duh - now I get it

I had in my mind that you were taking three corner 48" cabinets and stacking them one on top of the other... since the thread was about blind corner cabinets - whereas it looks like you have upright cabinets....

But I'm curious - why did you take standard base cabinets and put them on their ends? Did you not like the 30" oven cabinet - was your oven too big? Or was it for the look? Like Poggenpohl does sometimes with theirs creating a cabinet height that "appears" to be twice the height of a standard cabinet.

Those are three 49" corner cabs stacked on top of each other. The cabinets are in a corner. Here are some more pics to show you what I'm talking about. One is before I joined the top cabinet with the bottom two. The other is when i was dry fitting the fridge, oven and warming drawer to make sure everything fit. I'm at the point right now where I'm going to start doing the cabinet filler and the final setting of the appliances. The counter top (labradorite blue granite) is going in tomorrow. I plan on doing a blog here with my kitchen but my wife wants the kitchen done first.
