Question minifix

Hello everybody,

I am thinking of modifying an IKEA cabinet. Did anybody try to make their own minifix connections? What's involved and can this be done with basic skills/tools?

Thanks,
Arkadiy

Well, I've spent quite a while searching google images trying to figure out how this thing is called ... Maybe it has some other name, but basically this is the main mechanism used to assemble IKEA cabinets... See this link:

Thanks,
Arkadiy

cam locks is the commonly used term... cam bolts, cam nuts... the two together form the cam lock

and yes, you can redrill for the fittings. i don't remember what size drill bit, but it's relatively easy, you just have to get your measurements perfect where you want to line them up.
