We're putting our "office" in our kitchen and want to use the same cabinetry (Adel birch) to match. Any advice on using a base cabinet as a file cabinet?

I've been hoping that someone would have some ideas. I'm going to go ahead and order the cabinets and then try to figure it out. I'll let you know...

My kitchen is STAT white and I'm using a JOHAN drawer unit to build a desk. The bottom drawer of which will hold hanging files. With out the top (or with just cutting the funny overhang at the back of the of the top off) it is 24" deep. Have you checked if any of the office peices come in a birch that matches? Maybe you want only to use ADEL in which case I wonder if you could just use the fittings for the drawer slides (they are extras that go on top of the existing rails) that come with something like the JOHAN and mount them in an ADEL drawer that has been put together w/o the bottom?

Good suggstion - try the EFFEKTIV office line. I know there is a close match to ADEL MB, so maybe they have a birch offering that would blend and be designed for files.
