So, we have his swankty new (yet not huge) bathroom. We don't have room for a linen closet, we don't want a medicine cabinet, we love having books in the bathroom (everyone reads in the potty). I have been wanting something by the tub where I can set a book I've been reading in the tub, keep soap and shampoo within reach (anyone who's ever knocked a shampo bottle or new bar of soap on their toe understands), and organize the toiletries.

The
Leskvik shoe rack! So sauve! So sexy! So sturdy!
Not only did it fit exactly between the edge of the tub surround and the door molding, it is also the exact right height to reach things from the tub.
I got small plastic glider feet and put them on the six points where the shelf touches the floor, to protect it from inevitable water.
I added a couple wire bookends meant for Billy bookcases (they slide on to the edge of the shelf) to hold our reading material. They work great. Since we are the Klutz Tribe, the wire bookends also mean nothing heavy to fall on toes. (The same reason the kitchen has no square corners--we are klutzes!)
It holds a lot, doesn't make the bathroom look smaller, and looks very nice.
I'm putting another in my kitchen, which is pretty much between the front and back doors, for actual shoe use. It's strong enough for someone to put their foot on to tie their shoes, which is something we all like to do.
The Leksvik bench is really the best all-around bench Ikea makes, I think.
