WIth the 24 inch sink cabinet, there is no middle bracket since there is only one drawer. Is it a fairly straightforward install for the tip out tray, attaching to the sides?
Fairly straightforward? That depends, of course. It probably would be, with careful measuring, and without the sink installed. Make sure you have room for the little box in front of the sink, which is hard without the sink installed, but possible.
This is fairly easy to do, especially without the sink in place. Just follow the instructions and use the template that comes with the kit - just remember that you're working with a frameless system.
I have a standard stainless single bowl sink (25x22"); the boxes in my kit are 2" deep. The sink is installed so that the lip is 1 3/4" from the back edge of the counter, 1 1/4" from the front. To facilitate the sink installation and plumbing work, I completely removed the back rail and ripped down the front rail so it's only 1" wide
thanks for the tips, Chuck. I stopped by Lowe's and HD today and neither kitchens nor home organization had heard of or seen the tip out trays. I'll search online when I get a chance. May not be in my future otherwise.
The unit is made by Rev-A-Shelf. It's a common HD item (that's where I got mine) - they have a whole section of "after market" kitchen accessories, like the trash drawers, recycling center, etc. I can't believe the HD folks didn't know them. I assume Lowe's would have the same types of units.
this is my turn to whisper that i like my lil drawer at the bottom rather than tip out trays (better storage)
but i also know you're looking to do a pull out ala polly... you could always do a full door pull out and attach a little basket to the interior of the door thus creating a sponge catcher without the hassle of the tip out (those who have them are pretty split on satisfaction)
