We have a wall in the office where we are planning to put a 11.5 foot long countertop for a work surface, approximately 30-32 inches high. I was looking for rolling file cabinets that would fit underneath and and provide storage, but the ones I have seen are generally too utilitarian looking. So I thought that I could attach some casters to two 24 inch akurum base cabinets, cut off about six inches at the top, and outfit them with a 24 inch pullout door/drawer combo, perhaps also with additional drawers on top (the 24x24 inch door does exist). Problem is, I understand that all the support in these cabinets are in the side walls, and don't know where I could attach the casters.

These are the casters I was thinking of, at the bottom of this page.

Would appreciate advice as to where to attach the casters.

Two of the plate's holes on an edge itself, the other two on the bottom piece. That should have the weight's center close enough to the edge that it'll work.

I think they would be best on the bottom of the cabinet.

I'd throw in one or two on the ganged sides in the middle, just to be sure.
