I wanted a tilt out sink tray but found Ikea did not offer one. I found one offered online at Replacement kitchen doors and refacing supplies for under $20. All stainless and well made. I photographed the install. I used the tray to support the two drawer faces and toe kick trim tape to hide the space between the doors, one facing out two to hold that down (see Photos). What do you think?
I like the mod, but I'm wondering why the two metal pieces are showing in the front. Is that from the tray or the hinges? I assume there was no way to avoid that?
What size is this cabinet. I'm going to use a 30" cabinet and would like to do something like this.
The two metal pieces are just angle brackets fpr cabinet trim that I set in place to space the drawer fronts up from the under sink cabinet doors so that they would both look right and work right. the pieces wer simply pulled out when the job was completed. They did not remain.
I love our sink tip out trays - not because they give us a tremendous amount of space but because I can hide all the drainers and sponges (and rings when I remove them for whatever reason) We have the plastic ones - they're removable for washing in the DW - are the stainless ones removable? I like their look Congrats!

This is the 36" cabinet and the stainless tray is not removable, a plastic inset would be nice though. the stainless tray is very solid and provides the support for the drawer fronts
We use our tilt out tray all the time. I keep the potato peeler, a nail brush, a pot brush and a veggie brush all in them. It is the perfect place for them!
I had the trays on my 30" sinkbase, and joined the two drawer fronts together with joining plates. I had a terrible time keeping them together, though, the stress of pulling the tilt out open kept disarranging them. I finally bought a 30" drawer front and it's been fine since then.
30" shallow drawer front is commonly known as the "oven drawer" since it comes with the tall oven pantry....
i hate tip outs, but if someone likes them and is going to use them then i feel they are worthwhile.. i'm all about kitchens being catered to the individual using it
