Do you think that I could shorten the udden sink unit from 126cm to 100cm? T'would make for the perfect kitchen for me. Is the top made out of solid steel or is it a thin sheet on a wood board?
The stainless steel top is over a board for reinforcement.
That said, stainless is not easy to cut.

Don't bother - even with the right equipment (anyone have a hydraulic metal shear laying around?), it's gonna look like crapola.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful/hopeful, but you're opening a can of worms you don't really want to. Even if you could cut it neatly, you're left with the issues like what to do with the stabilizing bars, how to remount the legs, maintain the "thickness" of the top, etc.
