Almost makes me want to be back in Brooklyn! I lived not too far from where this store is going to be located...imagine, an IKEA within WALKING distance!
Thanks torrus! You were right on in your prediction!
I feel an IKEAFANS Meet & Greet coming on... Anyone up for a trip to Brooklyn???
Susan

All I can say is Finally!!!!! As many of you know I won a furniture assembly service that serves all of NYC & LI. Most of my customers were going to Elizabeth, NJ but with the cost of gas I am certain they will be happy with this new store. I actually just nhad our office manager mass email all our Ikea customers letting them know thw great news and the date of opening. Even though the market is slow Ikea is still p,lowing ahead and I know without a doubt that their decision to place a store in Brooklyn was one of their best moves yet. I have a great relationship with the top dogs at the NJ store and really hope for the same with the Brooklyn store. I hope to see all of you there opening day! Till then keep screwin away! No pun intended.
I am certain that the prices will be HIGH because they use Urban Express which is a courier service, and they pick the items or orders up from Ikea and take them to their storage facility and deliver them when they decide to. However, my company uses a professional service that only charges our customers $100.00 for basically whatever you buy to the City from Elizabeth, NJ. I am confident that they will be a lot lower for local deliveries. There number is on our website. I am not allowed to give out our website but if you do a furniture assembly search you will easily find us. This is a great site in which I utilize on an almost daily basis when training technicians or going over issues with customers so I don't want to upset the wonderful lady who founded this website. I hope this was a help and within the rules. Thanks.
This is Christopher again that posted earlier about the delivery service we use that is far less than Urban Express. I have recieved several requests for this information and if it's alright with Susan I am going to post it. We have been using this company for several years without any problems and I am sure many people that live in NYC have used them before. They will actually meet you at IKEA and take you home with your purchases. They are just a bunch of great guys. I know that Ikea uses Urban Express who in turn charges so much for so many pieces, and I also know it takes weeks for delivery because they take the items to their storage facility where it sits until it is delivered and if anybody has dealt with them knows that 9 out of 10 times their is some sort of damage or mix up.
